CYOA: THE HORROR OF HIGH RIDGE
(Choose Your Own Adventure # 27)

by Julius Goodman. B&W illustrations by Paul Granger. . Condition: Good only, 1983 Bantam Perma-Bound small hardcover, third printing. Ex-library book with all the markings. Tanning to page edges, but the interior is surprisingly clean. No damage. Content: I found this reviewer's comments to be better than the back cover description: "Pretty good story about spooks of old time Indians and prospectors running around town near the Sierra Nevada. You and your friends happen to be caught in the middle of it. The story is nowhere near as creepy as Mystery of Chimney Rock but there are some pretty gruesome deaths. I, myself, stayed in one spot too long, got caught and tied at the stake by some ghosts who then proceeded to kill us with a burning rod of iron. wow. Pretty rough way for a handful of innocent kids to go. Some of the endings are unsatisfyingly cut short leaving you to wonder 'so?.. now what?'. The dialogue is also pretty dull at times with scooby doo like banter. Other than that, the book is well designed and flows well with no events being recycled from other paths." 27 possible endings. Questions welcome. [1 copy available]
